Rum

Rum has its roots in the Caribbean, where the first colonizers in the 17th century were confronted with an excess of molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. The earliest distillation techniques were inspired by already known methods, and soon a drink began to emerge that was initially referred to as “kill-devil.”
